SERVER SIDE TRACKING
Stop relying on pixels & 3rd party cookies to track your visitors.
With server side tracking you can better understand user behavior, trust your data, speed up site loading time, and grow faster. Unlock the power of server side tracking.
What is Server Side Tracking?
Server-side tracking or server side tagging is a (relatively) new way to use Google Tag Manager (GTM) to better track users across devices. A pixel or tag (usually Google Tag Manager) is configured to send data to a web server (you can use ours or we’ll set one up for you).
It then tells us when a user takes action – submitting a form, viewing a product page or completing an online checkout for example. Then that web server passes the data to its destination (often Google or Meta).
Server side tracking often provides better insights into which ad drove the user to convert – and in turn – we can optimise your campaigns to find even more people like that.

Improve
ROAS
Pixels lose data. It’s a fact. And the less data ad platforms have to work with, the worse they perform. Improve ROAS or CPA with better data and get more without increasing ad spend.
Improve accuracy
Put the most advanced tracking mechanism’s in place to tackle data loss from consent mode v2 and cookie deprecation.
Competitive advantage
If your competitors are using server side tracking, and you’re not, your business may be at a huge disadvantage.
The Advantages of Server Side
There are a number of reasons an advertiser should use server side tracking to improve results.
- Loading fewer tags & pixels (which = less javascript) on your pages results in a faster site & improved load times (which helps with conversion rate on all channels and bolsters organic traffic)
- Server side tracking produces arguably better, more reliable results. If you’re replying on pixels, Google or Meta may lose visibility over the click to sale journey through ad blockers on the customers computer, via iOS / Apple tracking challenges, from consent mode pop ups allowing the user to deny cookies & pixels to fire at all, via browser problems such as a page not loading properly, and even from the widely discussed demise of 3rd party cookies in Chrome. Chrome will ramp up third party cookie restrictions to 100% of users from Q3 2024 and has >60% browser market share).
- Data can be sent to Google Ads, GA4, Meta Conversions API and more
- If your competitors are doing it, and you’re not, then you may be at a disadvantage
